Tracks
Look around
Here I am
Ever present at each turn
A whisper in the evergreen
My memory’s flame still burns
I will not be mourned as tear tracks on a face
I will be remembered for the way I lived each day
One only need to see my photographs
To be admirably amazed
I’m still on a rope swing
Still on my skiis
There was no such thing as danger
In the way I played
Pushing myself to the limits
My gigantic spirit freefalling
with the waterfall-cascade
I lived so many lifetimes
Even if I wasn’t here long
One only need to look around to know
My legacy lives on
My tracks
may have faded
from the Colorado snow
but will forever be imprinted

We were with Dan for his last moments on Earth. Dan died in a motorcycle accident on May 9th 2009. He was on highway 135 when a car made a u-turn and didn't see dan on his bike behind them. His family and us thought that it would be important to make a site for Dan so we can all post pictures and send stories about our beloved friend. We will be in Belize for the next 2 weeks so I will be trying to get this site up as fast as we can so we can all share his memory.

Dan's memorial service will be held on May 31st in Crested Butte. I will list more details as they come in. The Grand Lodge has made arrangements to give all of Dan's friends discounted rates at the Grand Lodge. The front desk will know to give them the discounted rate of $79.00/night + resort fee and taxes which comes to about $100.00 a night. She said that she'd hook them up with suites so they can fit 4 people to a room, and be able to cook their own meals if they want to.
Please call Jennifer Becker, Reservations Coordinator, at 970-349-8014 to place a reservation at the Grand Lodge Crested Butte. Ask for Dan’s Memorial room block. Jennifer is available Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm Mountain Time (2 hours difference behind Eastern Time.) Total per night inclusive of taxes and fees is $101.00 for your choice of an Emmons Studio Suite or a Standard King Suite.

Most everything will be happening in town, not on the mountain. The busses will run from the mountain down to town every hour and stops at midnight.
If you are are not able to make it to the Crested Butte memorial or the East Cost memorial Steamboat is planning to have a memorial service for Dan the information is below.
We are going to start the memorial at 5:30 pm at Staxx bar at the Haymaker golf course, east of town on highway 40. Karen and Dom (the owners) are going to provide some small snacks, the bar will be open for people to buy drinks if they like. We dont have anything official planned but im sure we will provide the opportunity for people to say a few words about Dan if anyone would like to and we are also planning on making a collage or having some pictures of Dan around for people to look at, and if anyone wants to bring any pictures they are more than welcome to. More than anything we just wanted another opportunity for people to get together to remember Dan.

The services will be in Manchester, CT with a wake on Sunday, May 17 from 3:00-6:00 at John Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, CT 06040 with a memorial mass on Monday, May 18 at 11:00AM at St Mary’s Episcopal Church, 33 Park St., Manchester, CT.
